We are currently looking for a Molecular Technologist who will be responsible for specimen processing, analysis and results reporting for molecular-based clinical assays. This is a unique opportunity to join a close-knit and passionate team!

Requirements

Essential Job Functions:

Including, but not limited to:

  • Receiving and processing specimens
  • DNA Isolation
  • Produces, interprets, and reports accurate and precise molecular test results
  • Identifies, prevents and/or corrects variances affect test and laboratory performance
  • Performs instrument maintenance and method troubleshooting
  • Works with laboratory management and other team members in the design, development, validation, and implementation of new analytical methods and instrumentation
  • Follows established policy and procedures as stipulated by accrediting agencies
  • Experience with Roche, Hologic, Agena and other molecular diagnostic instrumentation
  • Pharmacogenetics (PGX) experience preferred

Required Skills, Experience and Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in clinical/medical laboratory science, chemical, physical, or biological science is required
  • ASCP certification as a Medical Technologist or Molecular Biologist MT/MB(ASCP), or equivalent
  • Louisiana State License as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist is required
  • Excellent organization skills and detail oriented
  • Excellent communication, time management, and interpersonal skills
  • Self-directed and able to work autonomously with minimal supervision

Preferred:

  • 1-2 year+ previous Pharmacogenetics (PGX) testing experience preferred
  • 3-5 years+ previous clinical molecular diagnostics experience in automated and manual platforms
  • Master's Degree highly preferred
  • Experience planning validation studies highly preferred
  • Experience mapping and selecting Coriell samples highly preferred
